We’ve Been Moving For Over 40 Years
Mario’s Movers was formed over 40 years ago, by Mario Henry, who traded at the time as Mario’s Micro Movers, it later became Mario’s Movers. In the beginning, Mario operated with only a “bakkie”, moving anything for an income, but gradually gravitated towards furniture removal.
Office Relocation
We are there to assist with the planning and placement of your goods in your new premises, as well as liaising with all other contractors involved. We also provide inter building moves within your existing premises. We provide a service for the moving of computer equipment and the like.
Specialist Transportation
Upright, grand and baby grand pianos, antiques and fine arts. We specialize in moving upright and grand / baby grand pianos and have for a number of years moved these items for many of Cape Town’s leading educational institutions and organisations, well known piano restorers and tuners, as well as an international antique auctioneer.
PACKING SERVICES
We provide packing services for local, long distance or overseas shipping, as well as the crating of goods and we draw upon our many year’s experience in the transport and packing of antique furniture and fine arts for this purpose. We have packed and moved goods for many local antique houses, as well as museums and the SA Gallery. We can also supply you with the full array of packing materials as listed below, which can either be collected at our premises or delivered to you, at a nominal fee.
Bubble-Wrap
This is sold per metre and can be used for the wrapping of very delicate items, pictures, TV’s, microwaves, bottles of liquor etc.
White Waste Paper
This paper is used for the safe wrapping of glassware, ornaments etc. and is thicker than normal newspaper to prevent damage. You will not get ink marks on glassware etc. where as if you use newspaper you will.
Blue Plastic
This is suitable for the covering of single bed mattresses, arm chairs and dining room chairs etc. This is to prevent the soiling of your upholstered items during transportation.
Red Plastic
This is suitable for the covering of double bed mattresses, 2-Seater couches and other large upholstered items.
Packaging Tape / Buff Tape
This is used for the sealing of boxes; boxes must be especially well sealed at the bottom so as to prevent the contents falling out of the box when the box is lifted up.

The attach photographs and measurements of the most commonly used boxes for the packing of household contents.
PLEASE NOTE: All our boxes are second hand and not brand new. Brand new boxes can be ordered on request but are naturally much more expensive.
Book Box / Small Box
(340 x 375 x 375)
This box is most commonly used for heavy items such as books which cannot be packed into larger boxes as it could break the box and it would be to heavy to lift. Therefore, heavy items like books or more delicate items such as glassware and ornaments. Kitchenware etc can be packed.
Multi-Purpose or Medium Box (480 x 495 x 330)
These are the most commonly used in moving as it can accommodate most items including books if not packed right to the top or mixed with other lighter items.
Linen Box
(545 x 745 x 650)
This box is most commonly used as the name suggests for linen, clothing and other light items, such as Tupperware etc. It is not suitable for the packing of heavy items as there will be difficulty in lifting the box and it can also cause the box to break.
Wardrobe Box
(990 x 540 x 480)
As the name suggests and as you can clearly see from the picture your hanging clothes can be taken straight from the wardrobe and can be hung straight into the box. The use of these boxes will help prevent creasing clothes and will also help when unpacking straight into your new wardrobe at your new residence.
